@jonathanweisman Perhaps because the country needs a functioning Congress to pass budget and raise debt ceiling & that trumps mere politics?
@conradchaffee @SpeakerBoehner can put budget, debt ceiling on floor for bipartisan vote at any time. A new speaker has longer shelf life
