@peterbakernyt @jimj02155 Fact is, @POTUS met with Dems, asked them to stick with him on trade assistance. Hrs later, they abandoned him.

@jonathanweisman Not at all. Dems are traditionally against trade because of NAFTA. Not against PBO as u falsely betrayed. -
@jimj02155 Central to the president's pitch to Democrats is that his trade deals will right the wrongs of NAFTA. They rebuffed him anyway. -
@jonathanweisman Jonathan, this also proves that the President is able to work across the aisle for which he's been criticized.
