@jonathanweisman Colorado is a swing state that owns guns. Both Udall & Bennet voted for background checks, as did CO legislature.
Not sure no votes on bckgrd checks about NRA fear or money. Rural, remote states like AK, Mont & ND aren't NY, CT yet coasts speak for them?

@LauraChapin Colorado has Denver, metro pop 2,645,209, and Boulder. Alaska has Anchorage, 380,821, Fairbanks, pop 32,036. Not comparable -
@jonathanweisman@LauraChapin stop looking desperatly for excuses for the GOP. It's just look pathetic

@jonathanweisman but let's be real...how often is NRA going to support a Begich or Heitkamp against your generic GOP candidate? -
@caitleg NRA endorsed Baucus over a Republican in 2008, but I am saying many of those senators probably did reflect their state's voters. -
@jonathanweisman right. But that's rare. I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you. For most Sens best they can hope for is NRA to spend less -
@jonathanweisman and I mean that the NRA endorsing a dem is rare... My mom is most liberal person in AK and she owns a gun, for example
