If they can't get impeachment through a corrupt Republican senate, they can use testimony and other evidence against Trump to enlighten voters during the course of the 2020 election.
-
I believe that when the Dems get the docs and witnesses that the WH and Barr have blocked (and they will) the information will be so damaging, enough Rs will vote to impeach.

FINALLY! My goodness, talk about baby steps! I don’t understand why the Dems have to analyze EVERYTHING to death! If the shoe were on the other foot, we’d probably be getting ready to go to the Senate for trial when they came back from vacation, if vacation was even allowed!

Did you go to Law School? Do you know how explicit the Federal Statutes are? All of this is in the hands of seasoned, experienced lawyers - on both sides - there's not a single quotation mark that won't be analyzed! EVERYTHING must be geared to avoiding an escape on technicality.

Whatever it takes LETS ROLL

I agree, but this just seems like stalling. Impeachment proceedings are how we should gather more information. We have enough information to begin the process.
-
If Jerry Nadler is a staller, then we're in trouble. But I don't think he is.
-
I hope you are correct, but it seems like the entire party is balking.
-
He's a tough New Yorker. He has been 'dealing' with Trump for 40 years. Trump used to call him "Fat Jerry' (he did lose a lot of weight).

I’m really glad they’re doing this, but can somebody answer why they didn’t sue for these 2-3 months ago?
-
You do realize that there was ongoing investigation behind the scenes that we were not privy too. They may have found what they needed to begn. Impeachment is a risk, we better be buttoned up tight.
-
I’ll give you that they were strengthening their case to sue for grand jury testimony before it was filed. However, impeachment should not be viewed in terms of whether or not it is a political risk. That power was given to Congress to protect our institutions.
-
No, I’m talking about a risk to our democracy. If we get this wrong Trump is elected for four more years and we’re done.
-
If we get impeachment wrong? Do you think there’s an open question on whether he committed impeachable crimes?
-
No, but there is a chance it backfires in us and Trump wins.
