That is why the hush money to Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal was such a big deal. If either woman had gone public at that point, Trump may never have regained his footing. Instead they stayed silent.

"They stayed silent" ignores the legal jeopardy they faced due to Trump's decades-long practice of hiding his scandals with NDAs. Bannon said Kasowitz dealt with a 100 women during the campaign. Why would they've been listened to when 24 public accusers were ignored and derided?
The press failed to take Trump's history of abuse seriously. How many stories covered the '16 lawsuit accusing Trump of raping a 13-yr old at a Jeffrey Epstein's party? How many stories referenced that lawsuit when new stories surfaced this year about Epstein abusing girls?
Reinvent America as a place that believes women and then we can have a conversation about the consequences of their decisions.

I've long since despaired of seeing any kind of self-reflection about the massive media failures of 2016 (which continue today, and yes some few individuals have spoken on this) but I'll be doggoned if I can tolerate hearing someone arguing Everything Was Fine.

Given the conversations I’ve had with men here on Twitter and elsewhere the last few months...I doubt it would have mattered. Too many men think women who have been assaulted are either overreacting or lying. It’s beyond disheartening.

I don't believe that is correct, his followers don't care....the deal with Billy Bush had happened....they knew who he was....they don't care. Anything goes with Trump supporters.
I think every woman who was physically assaulted or raped should show up at their local PD to file a report against all of their perpetrators

Everyone stayed silent. Everyone who knew his secrets, his crimes and about his assaults ....stayed silent. They must be so proud of themselves today. The big cover up got us to where we are today.
