Building the security of a new note before designing its images struck some as curious. Larry Rolufs, a former director of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, said because the security of a new note are embedded in the imagery, they normally would be created simultaneously.

Sooooooop does this mean that the DT admin is lying about the “delay”, and that it’s more likely they just don’t want a black woman on our currency?

Pretty much

It's beautiful.
-
It's very ugly. The worst banknote design I have ever seen.
-
It ... looks like a dollar with her likeness on it. What more ya askin' for?
-
I expect design respecting tradition of putting portraits of presidents on it.
-
Benjamin Franklin and Alexander Hamilton were not presidents
-
Alright. But they were prominent politicians and are considered founding fathers of United States of America.
-
Like Samual P. Chase, Daniel Webster, a Buffalo, Henry Clay, an Eagle, Liberty, Columbia, Albert Gatlin, Joseph K. Mansfield, Dewitt Clinton...etc?

I miss the days when these clowns had eggs for their pics. Made it funnier when they made themselves look dumb

She was so brave. All women should support her on our $20’s.

I feel ambivalent about this. On the one hand it would be great to have her on the $20 bill as a form of recognition, but I don’t like what money represents. Plus, paper cash is being used less and less these days, so I'm not sure it matters.
-
Ditto. But I'd also be walking around with a stack of 20's the day of it's release, lol.
-
But think of the people who do regularly rely on cash. The people who don’t have credit cards, predominantly people without access to resources, poor, immigrant, and/or elderly. They still matter and deserve to see a heroic woman of color on the money they don’t see enough of.
-
No debate there. When it happens, likely AFTER 2020, we'll all be happy to see that representation.
