"The claim that Tlaib said the Holocaust itself was 'calming' is a pure lie. Tlaib was using the term in reference to a tragedy, but the tragedy is the loss of Palestinian land. She is arguing that the loss was offset by a gain for Jews is calming to her."http://nymag.com/intelligencer/2019/05/gop-calls-rep-tlaib-anti-semitic-for-being-nice-to-israel.html?utm_source=tw …

She didn't say that she was calmed that "Palestinian's loss was offset by a gain for Jews", she exact words were that the Palestinians tried to "create a safe haven" for Jews. It's an awful lie. The Palestinians fought Jewish immigration in every way imaginable.

Cynical reading of the comment. The actual exact words were "in the name of trying to create a safe haven for Jews" And she wasn't saying that the Palestinians were voluntarily trying to do so. Unless you consider *losing* your land, live, livelihood, human dignity, voluntary.

Given the vile revisionist nonsense @RashidaTlaib pushed about Palestinians giving Jews a 'safe haven' after the Holocaust- I thought I'd list eight popular myths that anti-Israel activists spread about the roots of the conflict.

And you think Tlaib's statement was a good and historically accurate and whatever calms her were good deeds by Palestinians? Listen Republicans are wrong by hyperbole but that certainly doesn't make Tlaib's statement a good one.

Funny how the media rarely if ever discusses Matt Gaetz bringing a holocaust survivor to the SOTU and Andy Harris and Phil Roe meeting with him. Can’t imagine why?

Palestinians did NOT provide a “safe haven” for Jewish refugees and immigrants. In fact, they fought as hard as they could to prevent Jews from escaping the Holocaust. In 1939 they convinced the British to limit immigrants to just 75k over 5 years. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Paper_of_1939 …

It is not an exaggeration to say that millions or more Jews might have survived the Holocaust and be alive today if the Palestinian Arabs had not fought so hard — including multiple massacres — to prevent Jewish refugees and immigrants from entering in the 1920s, 30s and 40s!
