This will no doubt get way overblown. Her choice of words was poor, but the old trope of equating criticism of Israel or AIPAC with anti-semitism is wrong, shallow and deeply unhelpful to the important policy debates that must take place.

The PROBLEM is she has made her hatred of Israel very PUBIC. This isn't her FIRST comment about it. Now when she says ANYTHING, you can expect it to be met with disdain and dismissal, as it should be.

Being critical of Israel or the Israeli government is not by itself anti-semitism. Just as being critical of Saudi Arabia is not anti-muslim or being critical of Venezuela is not anti-hispanic. If she has said truly anti-semitic things before, then we can judge accordingly.
