@jonathanweisman The "profound Jewish flavor" comment by Israel's chief rabbi was taken out of context in your article. The context being that he **condemned** people who refused to call Tree of Life a synagogue. So, the opposite of what you're saying here.pic.twitter.com/fR8g94gYyx

We had a fluent Hebrew speaker review the transcript of the interview with the chief rabbi. He repeatedly refused to call Tree of Life a synagogue. We stand by the story.

What was the point of trying to pin the rabbi down? What was the purpose of this cynical line of gotcha questioning? To twist the rabbis words to make it seem as if he didn’t care about dead Jews who weren’t orthodox? The rabbi was smarter than the interviewer. As he explained,

Anyway, notice here, he says "Does it matter which synagogue?" as in, it doesn't matter if it's Orthodox or not, because they were killed as Jews at prayer. https://www.jpost.com/Israel-News/Slamming-Ashkenazi-Chief-Rabbi-Netanyahu-says-all-Jews-are-one-570619 … The original is here, and the comment is in the 2nd graf:https://www.makorrishon.co.il/news/87083/
