Honestly I would like to hear more non-Republicans admit publicly that this is not an anomaly. This is what the Republican Party is now. There are no moderate reasonable Republicans left to go chase down for a reassuring quote.

not only is this an excellent point, you used my favorite word in the English language: anomaly.

Are you kidding? They're watching and taking notes -- these are their new playbooks. America slowly votes them out, and they cling to power through tactics like this.

They play DIRTY/NASTY every chance they get. Just like

Don’t hold your breath. Their silence is all voters need to hear, come 2020 elections. Republicans are not here to save our democracy, that’s been obvious for quite awhile.

Sure, we'd all love to hear it, but that horse left the barn years ago. Do we have to review the list: Brooks Bros. riot, mid-decade gerrymanders, voter suppression, Merrick Garland, etc. Even Paul Ryan, fraudulent wonk, is treating counting mail-in ballots in CA like voter fraud

Republicans who have been voted out are passing new laws before their Democratic successors take office to severely limit the power of those offices. It’s unprecedented.
