It can be about both and numerous other issues as well @lisamurkowski
"I promise you that we will be united against any Supreme Court nominee that Hillary Clinton, if she were president, would put up"

It's still about both. A judge who has demonstrably perjured himself, who tailors his legal opinions to the politics he favors, can't be trusted to mete out justice fairly to all US citizens.

Well it's about BOTH. And it's about time that Republican Senators who pretend to be advocates for women, pretend to be moderate do more than speak. Enough with rhetoric. If she can't tell the bigoted Senate leader she's a "no" then I'm assuming this is all BS.

Despite this, anyone who doesn't support a re-opeing of the FBI background checks is just blowing hot air.
-
Or maybe you're just wildly misinformed about what a background check entails. They're not used to investigate the veracity of allegations.

Had many points to disagree with this nominee before the allegations came out. He is a long time GOP operative with many skeletons in his closet. The fact that we were not allowed to fully vet lets me know GOP knows it also. Turn on the light, Grassley.

@lisamurkowski No, qualifications of Kavanaugh perjuring himself to get a circuit ct. seat, use of stolen docs, gambling debts that are mysteriously paid off and 2 current allegations of sexual assault. Dr. Ford's driving across the country to raise her concerns re CRT INTEGRITY - 1 more reply

Rape is about power, not about sex. If the allegations are true, then Kavanaugh has engaged in an egregious abuse of power and IS NOT qualified for SCOTUS or for any other federal judgeship.

It *is* about whether Judge Kavanaugh is qualified. If the allegations are true,
#Kavanaugh is a perjurer and and attempted rapist. Either of those should flaws disqualify him from serving on the US Supreme Court.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

So
@SenatorCollins and@LisaMurkowski, are you going to vote with women or with the old misogynistic patriarchy? It's much simpler than you're implying. -
Susan Collins is someone more wishy/washy and needs more women sending her their thoughts-to get her to vote NO-if there is a vote. I don’t believe she is close to voting NO though she gives that ‘impression’. She’s in trouble politically if she does.
-
She’s playing the “com” pretending she gives a
$hit...methinkest she’ll vote to confirm because she wants approval from her colleagues more than her constituents! -
That's what I'm afraid of. I believe that's why it's so important that we
#VoteBlue and hopefully the Democrats will impeach him early next year.

It can certainly be about that but the testimony and hearing will not deliver justice to anyone. The reality is much more straightforward. Kavanaugh, a job applicant, has received several really bad character references. Do you hire him or not? In the real world it would be “No!”

Senator Murkowski is mistaken. She is in a place where its about her vote. The Senator's constituents are reminding Murkowski she represents them, not Trump. If Murkowski votes to confirm Kavanaugh, her career representing Alaska will be coming to an end.
