The responses to this tweet prove my point. Jeff Flake has been for low taxes, free markets and much less spending for decades. He wants a conservative judiciary and opposes abortion. He is pro-international trade. Why would he vote against those policies?
Presumably for the same reason I would vote for George W Bush over a Democrat who was corrupt in the same way Trump is and who tries to dismantle the Western Order the same way Trump does. Country over party. Fix the policy once we've stopped the authoritarianism.

Then stop making the speeches, he's getting everything he wants. It's that he doesn't like the" tone" used by the prezidunce. If he would just crush unions, take away a women's right to choose and loot the government with a sunny disposition that would be fine.
I agree with what you’re saying. But, if Flake thinks Trump is such a danger, he’s choosing the policies he’s for over the democratic foundations of our country that he says Trump is eroding. His actions have more affect than his speeches. Says one thing, does another.
