By the way, I get the sense pro-teachers unions activists were initially too embarrassed of the opposition to vaccine mandates to defend it, but they are back to sending out human waves of attacks on anybody criticizing them again.

Thew new line seems to be: "Teachers unions don't oppose a vaccine mandate, we just think it has to be part of labor bargaining." Ok, if you're for the mandate, why are you bargaining over it? Just say yes!

BTW, this was also the Republican line on the debt ceiling in 2011: We're not against raising the debt ceiling, we just demand concessions for it.

I think the problem for the teachers unions is that they have endorsed a mandate for kids at the same time that they themselves are against being subject to a mask mandate.

This 'progressive' thinks the teachers unions need to do a reverse on this. Schools exist for students, not for teachers. If you aren't willing to get vaccinated, get another job!
-
They will negotiate with their employers. Why would they reverse now? What's the benefit to them to pre-concede?

Hey, are vaccines mandatory at New York magazine? Are you a member of any unions? What are their policies?
