Stupid question: For those freaking out about Apple's CSAM scanning from a slippery slope argument, why isn't there the same argument about antivirus scanning? Especially when most AV systems have cloud-based uploading facilities for suspicious but not certain files?

windows defender is way worse..... when it do not get a heartbeat and conclude "the chassis have broken up" it will deploy a hidden vm and enable remote control. or make live dump and connect to it. and lets not forget deployment of uefi capsules from secure kernel

you cant- it require that you can intercept secure kernel to see it....
