      In our Infosec circle we hear people talk about multi-factor authentication as if it's obvious but the reality is very different.       Some security people have this terrible Darwinian attitude towards user’s security “if they don’t turn on security feature x, that’s on them” nonononononononono we are supposed to make this transparent, at worst easy - for everyone.

      To be honest, I am convinced that it MS strategy to create confusion about what exactly a given security feature is supposed to protect against by: Giving it multiply names Not name it descriptive Make it very hard to find where to enable Have several ways of enabling the same

      While I agree with the outcome you described, I don’t think this is intention. I think this is the result of a complex, big Vendor with many different departments and many individuals.

      Then i guess ms needs a person with required skills and power to set the needed priorities and get the right people together to fix that mess. The wdag wizard is the light to follow out of that shitshow.
