Yes, true, although insider builds still don't have the new Edge preinstalled, but I think Windows Defender and smart screen should block that malicious URL. and what about this one? \\.\globalroot\device\condrv\kernelconnect (don't paste it in your address bar) results in gsod

I'll try and see, I doub't I can trigger this through HTML5 , Ajax / JS .. but i'll try. will update you if I have any news in regards to this.

try iframing sharred folder/webdav - inside it make folder named omgwtfbbq.{0AFACED1-E828-11D1-9187-B532F1E9575D} in that folder put target.lnk pointing at either url
