Check the call stack of loading this DLL. I've had cases where an app hooked into all processes was causing DLL planting in every process :)

Thanks, I'm unable to repro this, probably because not on the Insider Ring build (my regular build of 2004 is 19041). Which makes me wonder: who's using insider builds in production?

awesome- I can barely hold my primary pc running, so having VMs with different builds are not gonna happen. Try this: edgegdi.dll on desktop run iexplore
