Both are important. However much you work, you’ll never independently discover everything that’s been discovered by every other person who’s ever been in your field. Creating your own ideas is great, but sometimes it’s more efficient to read someone else’s.

yes- some times, I dont think this is one of them though... The people that have that weird combination of autismn, focus, windows internals facination, coding skills and love for impossible challenges are rarely the same type that write an entire book.

agreed 100%. For myself I learn much faster by doing. Tried to read something as key as windows internals and couldn't read through it. For now reading to supplement holes in my knowledge while building projects is working best
