Its a common misconception that a directory that to be empty to become a junction folder / symbolic link directory. Just make an alternative data stream on the directory a symbolic link and the entire directory transforms:pic.twitter.com/HzYvgtlo78

yes, but junction folder do not
But making a junction folder with files inside is not as easy as we have to use race condition in NTFS. 100% reliable though- at least with one file. I can do more by using MR. Forshaws slowdown lookup trick, but then it no longer totally deternimistic.
