This doesn't work on my VMs. I think "igd" stands for "Intel Graphics Driver" and "gmm" stands for "Graphics Memory Management".
Therefore, it's not Windows specific. This trick would probably work on most modern Windows laptops though. 
those drivers are junk- super exploitable in so many ways. I submitted one priv escalation to lenovo- thats all they get for free :) I kinda group intel drivers/synaptic/lenovo/dolby malware as the same crapware mentally. Dont know why it all is so badly made
