When you take the name Rosendale and change it to Rosenberg in a state with a recent history of anti-Semitism, it's not subtle.

Wouldn't anti-Semites just assume that Rosendale is also Jewish? Is Rosenberg supposed to be even more Jewish?

Rosendale typically isn't Jewish but sounds like it might be. Rosenbergs are almost always Jewish.
