Didn't stop these same Republicans from passing multiple Obamacare repeal bills when Obama was President, knowing he wouldn't sign it. Time for Republicans to realize they are co-equal to the President, not subservient.

They are more powerful than the executive b/c they are the representative branch. They can override a veto, but the executive can't stop their legislation if they wanted. They don't want to pass anything Trump won't sign b/c they are scared abuse victims. They need a hotline.

That could have saved the GOP Congress a whole lot of time during the Obama Administration.
-
It's decisions like this that are soooo frustrating for citizens. They act like squabbling children. No wonder they can't get anything accomplished. Well, other than the
#TaxScam for the top 1%. Good grief.

This republican congress doesn’t seem to understand its power or purpose. They work for us. They are a check on presidential powers.
-
They know their power. And their purpose is different depending on whether the President has an R or a D after his/her name.
-
For the reasons pointed out by both of you, it’s time Americans vote their best interests and not fall into the traps of candidates serving their own political views, purposes, and donors interests. Our Democracy demands educated citizens to keep it alive.

They do not have to have His signature and reporters need to call them out on it! They have the votes to override any veto on DACA!

...Remind me: Was there any expectation that Obama would sign the repeated repeals of Obamacare that were voted on? Oh, I know. Another day, another double standard...

Guess they never heard of a veto over-ride. Yes, it would be hard work and it means a bipartisan coalition, but it’s possible. When will GOP legislators realize they are a SEPARATE part of the government?!? They don’t need
@POTUS permission!!!Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Pass it, make Trump veto & own his veto, then pass it over his veto when they see public favors the legislation. That is the way Congress is supposed to work via the Constitution.

Sounds like they don’t understand what the word “coequal”means. They don’t work for Donald Trump. They work for the American people. Pass the bill and make him be the one that shuts the government down. It’s not that hard.
