This was part of a speech given by First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton at the 4th UN World Conference on Women in Beijing in ‘95. It was bold, brazen, revolutionary, & has become a rallying cry for women everywhere. How, sir, dare you discount Hillary’s impact on the public.

I've written a lot about that speech, in part about its importance as a platform for her gay rights speech to the UN in 2011. I didn't say she wasn't an inspiration to a lot of people on various levels. But as a campaigner, her advisers and aides said, there was a messaging issue

In your opinion. Some of us were clear about her message, her narrative, all of the simplified, watered down campaign tactics that win votes. That’s why we worked for her, voted for her, and continue to support and defend her.
