.@MSNBC ya'll progressive, right? I'm waiting on @maddow @chrislhayes @HardballChris @JoyAnnReid or @TheRevAl to put @jonallendc and @NBCNews in their place for how anti-blackness is embedded in his story, 2x white ladies voted for Jones, but w/o #BlackWomen, he would have LOST
Raw votes from white women for Jones were about 139,000, based on exit polls x actual results. If they'd voted at '12 level, it would have been 72,000 votes. Jones would have won by 21,000 votes. Had black women matched '08 or '12, Jones margin would have been slightly higher 2/3

Again, you keep wanting to compare WITH presidential years? What is achieved by this? It is a classic obfuscation. At least compare with off-year elections AFTER a presidential year, howbouthat?

What's your source for the raw vote totals? What are the raw votes for both candidates, for all voters -- by race and gender. Now that is a WITH comparison you ought to do you very fine journalist. Let's see ALL the raw numbers. I'll look if you send the link!

But I agree black women's votes should not be taken for granted. The story I wrote, and the story I believe is most interesting, is that women of all colors were the reason Jones won. The story also talks about Jones winning African Americans regardless of gender and youth. 3/3

Your story is the most convoluted, because you want to compare a special election, off-year, after presidential to presidential years to make both percentages and raw votes mean something they do not. Plus you won't offer historical comp with white DEM AL wins in non-prez years.
