My analysis: Cordray was leaving a job liberals care about to run for governor. He was going to get hit for that from Dem rivals in Ohio. He set up a fight with Trump so he could claim he left CFPB in good hands, even though Trump will win. He’s too smart to believe his spin.

I think you are confusing your perception of what's fair with the law. There is a legitimate question of which law (DF or the one that governs fed vacancies) takes precedent, but it has zero to do with spin.

        Does "absence" = "vacancy?"

Tweets with the words "liberals" or "conservatives" or any of their more derogatory forms generally don't have important information.

I also think it is just plain silly to say that someone who served as Director as long as Cordray did would get "hit for leaving" seven months early. I am it saying appointing English wasn't a political game...just a more normal game than you are suggesting

FVRA fills a gap, applies unless another law specific to the agency says otherwise. And Dodd-Frank did.

Are we just going to surrender the law to @realDonaldTrump? No way he defeats the law already although he'll get an appointment.

Don't come for me with stupidity. Not a dictatorship. Learn the law. President is in charge of the executive branch. Administrative agencies have only the power granted to them by the law creating them (the Legislature).
