1/ I can't be the only one who noticed that Trump shifted presidential oath from preserve, protect & defend Constitution to p,p&d citizens.

3/ One of the defining characteristics of our republic is that our leaders pledge to protect our ideals first.
-
Or maybe it is just highlighting how previous leaders betrayed their oath to the US Constitution by prioritizing non-citizens.
-
The Constitution includes protections for non-citizens.
-
My understanding: We are a generous people; we can & do grant aliens many benefits citizens are due. But benefits not guaranteed
-
Obama prioritized benefits to non-citizens at expense of citizens, clearly violating his Oath to uphold Constitution.
-
Obama wasn't the first, but his violations (including violating oath to faithfully execute the laws of the US) much more blatant
-
Thus, Trump's promises to prioritize US citizens clarifies his intent to fulfill his oath to US Constitution, doesn't conflict.
-
The point is that the oath is to the Constitution. But if you need an example. 14th amendment refers to person, not citizen
