The Court was packed in 2017. By holding a vote on Gorsuch, Republicans added a seat (which they had left vacant for 11 months, effectively removing it). McConnell killed the no-court-packing norm. Before FDR, GOP hadn’t stolen a SCOTUS seat from Wilson and given it to Harding.

I wouldn’t be so sure of that. Let’s see what the Court does over the next 2 years. If it’s more voter suppression and brazen partisan gerrymandering, the Democrats will either pack the court to fix it or become a permanent minority party. What choice would they have then?
