A few things to keep in mind: 1) The New York Times editorial page is separate from its news pages 2) The op-eds are not opinions of the editorial page but of the contributors 3) An anonymous op-ed is different than an anonymous source 4) It’s still a questionable call
Sure. I’m not against the use of anonymous sources. I use them a lot. I do think the standard should be higher for printing an anonymous opinion piece, just like I think it should be higher for allowing blind sources to register opinions, rather than facts, in news stories.
