The Newseum says this is about championing "free speech." The more cynical read: The museum is deep in debt, strapped for cash, and tourists like these trinketshttps://twitter.com/Poynter/status/1025440913902854144 …

The issue isn’t whether they’re allowed to print or sell the shirts. The issue is Newseum’s judgment. No one is suggesting the government should ban the shirts.

But you are saying that a retailer should ban them because free speech you don't agree with, that isn't free speech and you have both ways which we know that is not what you are advocating for.

I’m saying the Newseum shouldn’t sell shirts that undermine credible news organizations. Turns out, I have a right to that speech. And consumers have a right to use speech to pressure a store not to sell certain items. And you have a right to complain. No rights at risk here.

No what you are saying is that a gift shop which is retail shouldn't sell that particular item because it offends you. Yes you have right to voice your opinion however you do have the right to tell anyone what they should or should sell period. The thing is have you been there?

It’s not. My point is that it isn’t about whether they’re legally allowed to sell the shirts - or should be allowed to - of course they are. My point is they should have the judgment not to, and I’m trying to help them understand that.

It’s basically the same thing. You’re allowed to, but I don’t like it so how dare you. It’s ridiculous. It’s not a fringe belief... most people think the media is shite.
