The Newseum says this is about championing "free speech." The more cynical read: The museum is deep in debt, strapped for cash, and tourists like these trinketshttps://twitter.com/Poynter/status/1025440913902854144 …

It's a fucking gift shop
At the Newseum. “The mission of the Newseum, located in Washington, D.C., is to increase public understanding of the importance of a free press and the First Amendment.”
It's A Gift Shop
Your point?
But you are saying that a retailer should ban them because free speech you don't agree with, that isn't free speech and you have both ways which we know that is not what you are advocating for.
I’m saying the Newseum shouldn’t sell shirts that undermine credible news organizations. Turns out, I have a right to that speech. And consumers have a right to use speech to pressure a store not to sell certain items. And you have a right to complain. No rights at risk here.
No what you are saying is that a gift shop which is retail shouldn't sell that particular item because it offends you. Yes you have right to voice your opinion however you do have the right to tell anyone what they should or should sell period. The thing is have you been there?
To the Newseum? Of course. I live a few blocks away.
When was the last time you were there? This merchandise has been on display for over a year now and it's one of their top selling.
“Judgment” Have any of you humorless self-important morons taken a merchandising class? They also sell yellow “Trump Hair” cotton candy and “I’m With Her” shirts. It’s the Newseum, not the “Only News I Agree With-eum”
I didn’t say anything about partisan stuff; that’s fine.
Their judgement to choose to support our POTUS?seems like good judgement to me.forgot every American has to ask MSM permission for what's acceptable
I object to “fake news” shirts, not MAGA or Trump items.
The media coined the phrase and your mad because they put it 8n tshirt. just hush you sound stupid and petty. #FakeNews #FakeOutrage
The MSM did make that moniker, their own boomerang, they could redeem themselves by telling truth, vetting stories, researching without breaking entering .just saying.
Lol, how is that different than being allowed?
It’s not. My point is that it isn’t about whether they’re legally allowed to sell the shirts - or should be allowed to - of course they are. My point is they should have the judgment not to, and I’m trying to help them understand that.
It’s basically the same thing. You’re allowed to, but I don’t like it so how dare you. It’s ridiculous. It’s not a fringe belief... most people think the media is shite.
