Trump says you need photo ID to buy groceries in the U.S. That's more out of touch than George H.W. Bush's grocery scanner.
"You know, if you go out and you want to buy groceries, you need a picture on a card." That statement is not true. Moreover, it's built around the idea that there was massive voter fraud in the 2016 election, which also isn't true. It's a lie built on a lie.

You're making a meaningless distinction for most people. We understand in general, no you don't need to show ID when purchasing pork chops. But that's not the meaning people are taking from Trump's statement. They're taking the general idea that occasionally ID is required.
