but he didn't say you have to have an ID to shop at some stores. He said you need a photo ID to buy groceries.
-
Again at sams club and bj's club you do. He was using them for example
-
he didn't use them as an example.
-
Oh ok! Not by name. If you ever shopped at those locations you know what he meant. Lol
-
A membership card is not an ID. Not the same.
-
You need one to obtain the membership card.
-
Nice try but he meant exactly what he said. Mo excuses, he said it, he meant it, period. Doesn’t think b4 he speaks EVER!

REMINDER- The George H.W. Bush scanner story was false.
-
Yeah, my point was more about the photo IDs than the scanner. Didn't mean to perpetuate myths - it was taken as a symbol of distance from the people even though it didn't happen as reported.
-
Thanks. Wasn't trying to scold you, but that story has always annoyed me. It was lazy, hacky reporting from someone who wasn't even there, and it got around the world before the truth could put its shoes on.

When you use a check to purchase groceries the clerk asks for your ID. You buy beer or wine, they ask for your ID, sometimes they ask for your ID when you use a credit card to verify identity.
-
If you use a check, which few people do anymore, you might be asked for ID, which is about theft not citizenship status. Or, you might be asked when you buy booze, which is about underage sales, not citizenship status. More important, you don't need an ID to buy groceries.

"You know, if you go out and you want to buy groceries, you need a picture on a card." That statement is not true. Moreover, it's built around the idea that there was massive voter fraud in the 2016 election, which also isn't true. It's a lie built on a lie.
-
You're making a meaningless distinction for most people. We understand in general, no you don't need to show ID when purchasing pork chops. But that's not the meaning people are taking from Trump's statement. They're taking the general idea that occasionally ID is required.

Beer, cooking wine, otc meds are all purchased at the grocery store. All require ID. If you use a credit card you are asked for ID to avoid identity theft.
-
No, no you’re not asked to show an ID to use a credit card at a grocery store. That’s not a thing. Any American adult would know that.
-
I'm guessing bots have to show ID.
Our friend APO there would have to in order to prove humanity! -
That or they may require id’s at grocery stores in mother Russia.
