Beatles “White Album”. Pink Floyd “Dark Side of the Moon”
-
White Album is so close. Ever hear Tame Impala’s Currents?
-
Yes. I love “Let It Happen” and “Cause I’m a Man”. Very retro!
-
It’s in my top ten LPs of all time. Can’t wait for the next one!
-
Dark side isn't anywhere close to Pink Floyd's best in my opinion. My personal favorite is Animals.
-
The Wall is even better than Animals. So is Wish You Were Here.

-
Completely disagree however both are amazing albums. I tend to steer away from the "popular" albums though.
-
Well, they do tend to be popular for a reason.

Van Morrison - Astral Weeks

And/or the criminally underrated and ignored Veedon Fleece
-
OMG! Even more serious good taste. Van the Man fans! Jon, you drilled into some fertile territory. And how 'bout Into the Music?

Stella Dan - AJA
-
OH MY GOD ITS SO GOOD.
-
Isn’t it just.....a perfect, polished gem.
-
I saw Steely perform the song Aja live about 4 years ago before Becker died. Just breathtaking.
-
Just my opinion, but I’ve long thought they had the consistently highest level of musicianship in the business. Donald Fagan is a true chord-meister; love their cool, snarky, subversive lyrics and jazz-pop fusion.
-
Perfectionists from day one. Concur with all you said. As I once commented, they put the “FU” in “FUSION”.
