I'm not a Franken die hard. I do believe the allegations against him. And, that take is wrong. Yes, Gillibrand couldn't literally have done it "singlehandedly". And yet, but for her, it wouldn't have ended with him being forced to resign. (A reprimand made much more sense.)

Tbc, sending it to Ethics (Gillibrand was first to demand that) was a road to nowhere b/c the Vitter precedent. So smth could & should have been worked out by the leadership to quickly move a reprimand resolution to the floor. And again, but for Gillibrand, that cld hv happened.
