I propose a maximum multiplier policy. Executive pay greater than a companies median salary would have a levy on gross income. I will be generous and start at 20x as 0. Every 1x is 1% tax. Let the shareholders decide if the board is worth their pay based on the hit to the topline

Or just set a maximum multiplier and don't allow them to exceed it. Only way to pay themselves more is to pay everyone more.

But I wonder whether the minimum wage could be a contributing factor? You get companies building their business models on that base regardless of its profitability and that's acceptable and they get a pat on the back. Need a better enabler for companies to pay higher wages.

Jon, do you see my point when you look at CEO of Bet365 getting £469m while I bet most of her workers are on min wage? There needs to be a far better balance in sharing the income so you need to look for solutions to do that like executive pay to wages ratios or a max wage, etc.

Look up individual conspiracy theories and 9 times out of 10, one of the top results will be a UK mainstream paper. Sadly they are poor resources for the myth & truth of the theories, just sort of introduce the idea. Make of that what you will.
