They know their families best, they know what is achievable, and they don't need an outside body - say an Ofsted - making judgements on remote work completion without that context.

They also forget that a lot of teachers are parents themselves. I've already taught two live lessons this morning, whilst trying to look after and home-school/generally look after my own primary aged kids.

My 14yo had a live lesson today with cameos from her teacher's 4yo and 2yo, the live lesson was very much appreciated by my teenager.

What the government and the general public seem to overlook is that class teachers will have a class of children physically in school. Schools are not closed at all. They're open to keyworkers' children, vulnerable and SEND, providing online and physical teaching simultaneously.

I’m a teacher and I fully agree with you. We’re under lots of pressure to monitor attendance/chase up non attenders/provide evidence of progress with remote learning whilst planning and teaching live lessons for all. It’s a near impossible task. I have my own children also.
