Hi Jon. Its not on footprint of tramway, its a dual carriageway - wider so impossible to create without cutting into Sheaf Valley Park & dividing S2 and Parkhill off from city. Main issue is breaking air quality limits and lives shortened and lost by illegal levels of pollution.https://twitter.com/jon_s_maiden/status/1254711495906263041 …
I just don't see how it would necessarily increase air pollution. We already have a 4-lane road - and it will be replaced by a 4-lane road further away from town. If tree count remains the same (or higher, given new parks) after, then why would long term air pollution by higher?

I'm not for or against this by the way. Just keen to understand more. It looks quite a good idea at first glance given the need to develop that side of town. But if it will genuinely increase already illegal levels of pollution then it should be resisted. Just not clear it does.
