Costs aren't costs. Costs right now, costs over many years, infrastructure costs or total cost including business opportunities gained/lost. I expect you're both right in your frames of reference.

Interesting. I always thought the AWS killer feature was cost differentiation for younger workloads, service convenience for older.

But I also think there is a tipping point for mature workloads, where cost dominates over convenience.
