should add that on my Mac it took less than 5 minutes to get the riscv tools + qemu installed via homebrew and then compile/boot this xv6

only holdup was that the build tools didn't get linked even by "brew link" so it took a minute to find the bindir and add to PATH

some ‘higher level’ assemblers could help here that would be slighlty less platform independent and be able to produce proper mach-o and elf etc without much user effort
