You know....people who don’t break the law usually don’t end up in jail. So how about a petition for people to stop breaking the law. Then we won’t have to pay to lock them up. Then when we have less crime committed we have fewer people wrongly accused.

The number of sentenced inmates of all races in US state/federal prison grew from 187,914 in 1968 (MLK era) to 1,458,000 in 2016. thats a 7.7x increase . the overall population went up 1.7x . . . .so the rate of prison filling was 4.5x faster than the rate of general pop. growth
