I imagine there's some comfort in imagining a future without racism and projecting that onto the present. Thinking if we just deny the truth, it doesn't exist. If history is erased, we don't have to deal with its consequences. However...

I love that great, brilliant artists have the power to imagine a better future. But artists can't be blind to the truth.

Banks want to make money by issuing loans, and have no reason to turn down anyone who's a good credit risk. If Jamal has bad credit, maybe he could work on that.

Banks have EVERY reason to turn down a Black college student seeking a loan to start a business or deny a black family a loan for a home. Its called historical/institutionalized racism ie the

Do you actually think that a bank is going to deny a loan to someone with a perfect credit score, and deny the bank a chance to make $$$, because of a nefarious (and illegal) ideological commitment? Loan gap = credit score gap.pic.twitter.com/9Ivg0tk5lK

I can’t get a government job because of the preferential treatment, you have to be black or Hispanic. You don’t live in reality. Not every job rejects me because I am overly educated.
