I worked at cjts. Instead of congratulating it's closer, why not ask where are all those kids going now that cjts no longer exists. I'll tell you they are now being placed in the ADULT system because they is nothing in place. We failed our kids in ct.

Say What!! Do u even kno what CJTS was/did? Do u not realize that CT still has Youth Prisons (MYI)? The diff now is that kids who were locked up @ CJTS where they had amazing programs r now locked up in "big boy" jail! Do some research b4 thanking a gov who had his own agenda!

It's not just the justice system that's broken.... Try starting at the beginning & how these kids get to be the hardened criminals that they really are...Broken families, no education, no skills, no parental responsibility... THAT'S WHERE THESE PROBLEMS START!

You are so misinformed that it's not even funny! These "juveniles" in CT are literally killing each other & innocent people... repeatedly trying to run police officers over. They're involved with gangs, doing & selling drugs, running guns, sex trafficking, and the list goes on.

The decision to close CJTS was cost-based. Youth offenders are often gang involved, violent or are high-risk due to unmet mental illness/early childhood trauma needs. Locked, supervised, clinical options for their safety, their families & often the community remain necessary.
