Can’t emphasize this enough...just look at the bias of punishment for black children across American schools. Black students are far more likely to receive detention for the same behaviors as their unpunished peers.

I love teaching. I love my students. I will NEVER carry a gun or have one in my classroom; I will quit before I'm forced to do that. My heart is not made to shoot or kill.

This! It's only helping perpetuate the school to prison pipeline. I also believe it will be awful for black teachers. Are we really supposed to believe the police won't see them as a threat when they arrive?

I think it’s crazy to put the burden on teachers, what happens when they shoot the wrong person? Or shoot a child that hasn’t done anything that warrants being shot! God help us all!!

This is what worries me about Trump’s proposal to punish drug dealers with the death penalty...not because minority populations have more drug dealers but because minority populations will be targeted and convicted. Pharma CEOs will go unpunished.

You are not arming unwilling teachers who are not comfortable with a gun. You are arming teachers who are willing to get educated on a gun who would have to go through the proper training and licence to carry. Just like you allow a police man to carry who has the proper training.

These people are not trained LEOs or counselors, or mediators but teachers. They are not going to be trained for situations and kept in readiness for these types of situations. This will be bad.

The teachers that want to be armed will be the ones required to be trained. Just like the people who ask to drive are required to pass a written and driving test. And before they do that they are required to have so many hours of training

They are still not qualified and will not ever have the experience needed to do that job, teach, and have a family life. It just is not possible for a human being.

No, I am saying it is impossible to train for gun on campus scenarios, qualify, have a family, teach, and maintain that pace. You are talking about having to assess a situation as an officer decide threat level and keep yourself in check in those situations so no one dies wrongly

I'm talking about preparing for a domestic terrorist something everyone should not look past including yourself. I would feel a lot more comfortable knowing my daughter have someone trained with a gun in case something happens no matter how rare it is
