  Banning guns to stop mass shootings would be the same as banning cars to stop hit and runs. Ok, you fixed one issue that amounts for a small portion of their overall use, but what about the people that still need a way to work?

  More military style rifles and high capacity magazines were sold each year of the ban than the preceding 10 years total. Everything was grandfathered and most stockpiled goods sold like hotcakes. Result: Violent crime took a dive, lower still today and continues to decline.

  Exactly, people will tell you that banning certain types of guns, having age requirements, license requirements, mental health & background checks will not stop a bad person from buying from the black market. Yes, it will & it will stop a lot more of them or make it harder.
