Now we take them down? After centuries, now everyone's pissed? This makes no sense.
The Confederacy was the villain. Get their statues out of our parks. They deserve no honor or reverence.

I agree but we also shouldn't forget history. Place them in museums to show the failures of the past. We must make a bright future.

Building a statue gives a whiff of approbation. Villains should only reside in the leaves of books...as villians.

Confederate monuments are not history, there are books for that. A monument should reflect how good triumphed over evil and won.
