      OK. Mostly forgotten I would imagine. Scraping the barrel. @LibDems raised the threshold to take many lower paid out of tax of course....

      Except most benefit went to rich from that after first few raises because poorest earn less. It wasn't a terrible idea...

      The increase in the tax threshold only benefited people on the lower tax rate as the upper threshold was reduced.

          Exactly, the poorest didn't benefit because they weren't in the tax bracket at all. Well done for acknowledging.

          Actually no. Whereas Labour are currently planning to clobber the poorest 10% VAT is mildly progressive as a tax.
