⚠️ Travel Advisory ⚠️ We are expecting a fast-moving, intense storm overnight. While we anticipate major snowfall to be wrapped up in most areas by 5 a.m., clean-up efforts will take longer. If you have flexibility, please delay travel for the Friday morning commute.

When we determine a big snow storm is on its way, it’s all hands on deck. For UDOT that means 1️⃣ gathering information and making a plan, 2️⃣ preparing the snowplows, and 3️⃣ clearing the roads. Making the roads safer and getting you to where you’re going - that’s our top priority.

Heavy lake effect snow is causing issues on many highways in Salt Lake County. Please consider delaying travel for 2-3 hours until the snow moves out. If you have to travel, please use caution and slow down. Follow for the latest traffic information.

Our crews have been working hard to prepare (finally) for winter weather. They’ll do everything they can to keep our roads plowed and safe. As drivers, let’s please remember to slow down when driving in winter wx & put down distractions so we can get to where we’re going safely!

A concrete spill in Mill Creek Stream west of I-215 to at least 700 East has increased PH levels which can cause skin irritations. It is imperative that humans and pets stay out of the water and away from Mill Creek Stream.

This is a pile of ugly garbage and dangerous road debris our UDOT crews have collected in Salt Lake County just this month. Unsecured cargo has played a factor in 4 fatalities since last week on Utah roads. We’re asking everyone to do their part to keep our roads clean and safe.

Great to see our crews keeping Utah moving! Each beam weighs about 60,000 lbs. This means we installed more than half-a-million pounds of concrete beams in one overnight shift.

Neither snow nor rain nor sleet nor gloom of night stays our crews on the @us89daviscounty project from placing beams for the new Gordon Ave. interchange bridge in @LaytonPIO Monday night.

Today, two members of our Cottonwood Canyons team were staged in Little Cottonwood Canyon to assist with avalanche control. As they prepared to exit the UDOT utility truck for the snowcat, both vehicles were hit by a natural slide. We are grateful both team members are safe.

This map was the first thing I saw July 1, 1987 when my family moved to Utah from Upstate New York for my Dad’s job. I felt sad to leave my friends and uncertain about my new home. 33 years later, I’d say it worked out well. Whenever I see the map, I always think about that day.

SLC Airport saves the World Map! The iconic World Map that welcomed passengers to Terminal 1 for 60 years has been successfully removed. Originally, planners didn't believe the map could be saved, however, engineers successfully salvaged it for Concourse B of #TheNewSLC-Phase II.
