Bloom says a genius reinvents his predecessors. Schopenhauer remade all of the canon, & cheekily signed it "anonymous." When Nietzsche discovered this ruse, he went mad: "the greatest psychological counterfeit in history, not counting Christianity." (Twilight of the Idols)

But seriously- how much of what we believe to be authentic is the result of succesful ruses throughout history? A terrifying thought...pic.twitter.com/92RK1Sk3Um

The fun thing about being closed-minded is that it really helps narrow down what you can learn.

I like your stuff a lot- I even watched several of these but they made me cringe when this "medium" made mistakes that the supposed channeled spirit would never make (that McLuhan one- oof)

She's gotten far too much right to be faking it. It took me three decades to learn all this. There's no way she could just "pick it up." Doesn't work that way. Every medium involves a translation from one vessel to another, like with poetry from German to English, stuff gets lost

Can you give me an example of something she got right that she could not have gleaned from the question you asked (or a basic gloss of a wikipedia page)?

All sorts of things. Did you listen to the Steiner interview, for instance, and how she clarified Steiner's thoughts on the differing cosmic eons of Saturn, Sun, Moon and Earth?

I havent read Steiner so I can't comment on that one, but you have made me want to read Steiner.

Dude, Steiner's awesome. He's very addictive too, but you have to start with the right book. I recommend The Principle of Spiritual Economy as a starter. That was the one that first drew me in.
