@johndavidebert Hi John
I'm reading and reading Mcluhan, and for the most part I feel like a complete idiot, he likes to throw statements at me and expect me to work at it(I'm a sucker for that).
What should I read next? Ong? Eric? Innis?
Also will read New Media invasion, thx

Yes, McLuhan is tough, but his easiest is The Medium is the Massage, so def read that. And yes, read Innis's two books The Bias of Communication and Empire and Communication, especially the latter which influenced McLuhan greatly. Then read Ong's Orality and Literacy.

I read TMITM, also GG, but I think I wasn't ready for it, almost "done" with UM, but the first part just demands a second reading atleast. This is an exciting reading list! Thanks

Those are the core media studies classics. But you might also look at Leonard Shlain's The Alphabet vs. The Goddess and of course my New Media Invasion, which draws from all of those works. (Understanding Me is also helpful for McLuhan: it contains lectures).
