tip ... sometimes your biggest ally will be someone thinking about software architecture as they have an interest in exploring the "big picture" before they start chipping away. great collab activity: populate a "learning backlog". What do you need more information about?

This whole thread on design and agile is “true” (it reflects lived experiences for some % of people) But it does not need to be this way. And the teams that are thriving, are likely doing so unfettered by these dichotomies and dogma (e.g. Agile is, Designers are...)

Know a community manager?! This looks like a great role for someone curious about (hopefully w/experience in) the world of product/design/product management/proddev/analytics.

Imagine the case where a change in CEO is just enough "stress" to knock a wicked loop out of orbit. And that unlocks the potential that was swimming below the surface / and gets the flywheel moving. We tend to credit the CEO, but ...

"We are quick to tout a growth mindset when it is growth we like, but slow to support growth in others that makes us uncomfortable. Quick: first principles when they back us up. Slow: first principles when they challenge us."

Facilitators spent the first Workshop years bridging those divides. Harmonizing values, language, measures of success. Building common ground, experimenting together, keeping it safe to disagree and to resolve differences.

Not sure ppl realize how Silicon Valley management practices are optimized for, well, Silicon Valley (and the ppl drawn to SV). To call them "advanced" or "mature" -- to blindly copy them -- is misguided. In my travels, I've seen some truly interesting and powerful models..(1/2)

Someone asked me recently about "measuring Scrum". I joked that the best way to "measure Scrum" is by the flow of retrospective items that lead to experiments to improve....not by story points, "value", outcomes, etc. The flow of improvement. Reflecting, that isn't so bad!
