I am comfortable with the use of group theory, but am looking for the right starting level textbook/review article for category theory and it how it "meshes" with groups (for physicists), if you could recommend something, please

Whew, that's kind of hard because this subject is too cutting-edge. Do you know gauge theory?

i offer $100 for the latex source. weaponized binaries for windows machines not sought, thanks all!
-
The LaTeX source is freely available for all papers on the arXiv: just click on the link I provided, then find "other formats" and click on that.

Do you think this is a new evolution in the application of categorized-groups since i am not in touch as much. in my phys days , group theory usage was common , but looking at the paper, lot of new notations cropping up in new physics
-
What's new is that condensed matter theorists are starting to use 2-groups to imagine new kinds of matter, which eventually they can try to make in the lab.

In case someone knows: Is there something that makes drawing 3D diagrams like these easy, or is this plain TikZ? Because that looks quite impressive!
-
This looks pretty straightforward using xypic, except for the dots with various shades of gray, which I've never used. I don't know if it was done with xypic or TikZ.

I don't know anything about what that diagram says, but it looks so beautiful. I'm excited to understand it in some future and appreciate it even more
